Hosted by Erin Krebs\, this Jazz Hang welcomes both the Harmon brothers in Noah and Zach\, as well as Jerry Sparkman to the stage. Plus\, a special “edutainment” set from international vibraphonist Chris Dingman kicks things off. \nWho: Erin Krebs\, Noah Harmon\, Zach Harmon\, Jerry Sparkman\, Chris Dingman\nWhen: Tuesday\, April 19 at 7:00 pm (Doors at 6:00 pm)\nWhere: Gibson Community Music Hall (211 W College Ave\, Appleton)\nCost: $10 at the door \nERIN KREBS: \nIn 2016\, Jazziz Magazine wrote that Erin Krebs “may be a best-kept secret of her native Wisconsin”. It seems the word is out\, as this dynamic performer is well on her way to becoming one of Wisconsin’s premier and most treasured vocalists. Ranging from sultry jazz stylings to bebop scat to belting out the Blues\, her performances exude confidence and a passion for life that audiences instantly recognize as genuine and heartfelt. Recently\, Erin was awarded the WAMI (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) Female Vocalist of the Year for 2019 and in 2018 the Erin Krebs & Jeff Johnston Duo was recognized as the 2018 Jazz Artist of the Year. Erin was also a nominee for Female Vocalist of the Year (2016\, 2017\, 2018) and Jazz Artist of the Year in 2017. \nNOAH HARMON: \nNoah Harmon has been involved with music his entire life. His musical endeavors began at age four and have continued ever since. He received a bachelor’s degree in music from Lawrence University where he studied classical piano performance. In a classical medium\, he has performed with larger ensembles such as the Water City Chamber Orchestra\, the Oshkosh Symphony\, the Big Band Reunion\, and the Chaminade Women’s Choir. Smaller ensembles he has performed with include the Electric Company – (psychedelic rock)\, Bloodhawk – (metal)\, the Jazz Orgy – (jazz)\, just to name a few. (Reverb Nation). \nZACH HARMON: \nZach Harmon was born into a musical family in Wisconsin. He began studying piano at the age of three and continued for thirteen years. He started playing the drum set at age fifteen and quickly gravitated towards improvised music.\nOver the years\, as a versatile drummer and percussionist\, Zach has performed with artists such as Ambrose Akinmusire\, Charles Altura\, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson\, Billy Childs\, Yoonseung Cho\, Romain Collin\, Joshua Crumbly and many others.\nNotable venues at which Zach has performed include: Birdland\, NYC; Blue Note\, Nagoya & NYC; Freight & Salvage\, Berkeley; Jazz Alley\, Seattle; Jazz at the Bistro\, St. Louis. Zach continues to perform\, record\, compose and teach around the world. \nCHRIS DINGMAN: \nChris Dingman is a vibraphonist and composer known for his distinctive approach to the instrument: sonically rich and conceptually expansive\, bringing listeners on a journey to a beautiful\, transcendent place. He has been profiled by NPR\, the New York Times\, DRUM magazine and many other publications\, and has received fellowships and grants from the Chamber Music America\, the Doris Duke Foundation\, New Music USA\, and the Herbie Hancock Institute (formerly the Thelonious Monk Institute). \n
