DESCRIPTION:David Paul Martin makes his way back to Gibson Community Music Hall for a Songwriter Showcase. Katie Pederson joins the party with him off the back of her appearance at Rhythms & Brews! This show is presented along with Mile of Music Presents. \nWho: David Paul Martin\, Katie Pederson\nWhen: Thursday\, October 20 at 7:30 PM (Doors at 6:30 PM)\nWhere: Gibson Community Music Hall (211 W College Ave\, Appleton)\nAdmission: $10 at the door; Free for Mile of Music Music-Makers \nDAVID PAUL MARTIN: \nA Wisconsin native\, David Paul-Martin Niemi grew up in a musical family and was exposed to church music at a young age. Not too long after drum lessons became cooler than piano lessons\, David was exposed to bluegrass and began learning to play mandolin. After receiving a Tascam 4-track tape recorder and a single microphone\, a whole new world of musical possibilities opened for the young songwriter. \nIn addition to his own solo project\, David teaches private music lessons\, does studio work\, and has managed audio productions for Branford Marsalis\, Glen Miller Orchestra\, Maggie Rogers\, Judith Hill\, Meg Meyers\, and others. \nKATIE PEDERSON: \nKatie is a Nashville based singer and songwriter from Ann Arbor\, MI. Surrounded by melodies played on her grandfather’s Steinway and harmonies sung by her mom\, Katie found a love for song at a very young age. Inspired by artists such as Sara Bareilles\, Ben Folds\, and Elton John\, she began writing music in high school\, combining raw\, vulnerable lyricism with catchy melodies and pop-piano sounds. \n
