The Blues Disciples

The Blues Disciples have been bringing their Blues to the people of the local clubs in the Milwaukee area and the Midwest region since 1990. Founded by “Barefoot” Jimmy Schwarz with the intent of remaining true to the influences of the Chicago electric blues era of the ’50’s and 60’s. Influenced initially by the likes of Little Walter, and Muddy Waters, and then directly by Wisconsin Blues greats Jim Liban and Billy Flynn they forged a sound and band that rose to the top of the Milwaukee Blues scene. Their years of powerful shows every week at Milwaukee Blues fixture, The Up & Under, turned a whole new generation on to the Blues genre. Many years and changes have kept their music fresh, and relevant, while still remaining true to their Blues roots.

Charlie Christenson at GMH

Charlie Christenson (vocalist, pianist, songwriter and educator) is currently a doctoral fellow in the Studio Music & Jazz program at the Frost School of Music and a member of the indie rock band, beddside. Before moving to Miami this Fall, he served as Head of the Voice Department and Director of the Graduate Program at the McNally Smith College of Music in St. Paul, MN. Charlie received his Bachelors of Music in Education from Lawrence University in Appleton, WI, and his Masters of Music in Performance from the Manhattan School of Music in New York City.

Christenson has studied privately with Peter Eldridge (New York Voices), Theo Bleckmann (Meredith Monk), Kate McGarry, Kate Reid, John Daversa, Patrice Michaels, Fred Sturm, John Harmon, Matt Turner, Mark Soskin and Christine Salerno.

The Voodoo Fix

Formed in southern Los Angeles, The Voodoo Fix are a must see live band with a sound that echoes the soul of rock & roll, West Coast funk, and Chicago Blues. With a constant touring schedule, the band developed a cult fan base spanning the US and Europe. On their new album Back For More, The Voodoo Fix creates an alluring sound filled with primal grooves and hook-laden melodies greased with soul. After relocating to Nashville, the band caught the attention of independent radio giant Lightning 100’s Music City Mayhem, winning the competition and earning an evening slot at Live on the Green Music Festival with the likes of Michael Franti, Spoon, Portugal the Man, and Saint Paul & The Broken Bones. The Voodoo Fix is built from the ground up with an air tight show that can only be earned through years of working the stage. Wielding a balance of youthful energy and old-school show business, the band and crew are clearly in it for the people, leaving crowds ecstatic, energized, and wanting more. Now with two European tours under their belt, a packed schedule across the US, and a new record under way, The Voodoo Fix are cementing their place in rock and roll while growing an empire built on one undeniable live show.

Claire Kelly

Meet Claire Kelly- the eternal optimist. This girl is on a mission to brighten every corner she steps in with honest lyrics and lively melodies. Her vocal ability and folk/pop style have been shaped by a love for artists like Regina Specktor and Ingrid Michaelson.
Over the years, Claire has had the privilege to open for Anderson East, Lee Dewyze, William Becket of The Academy Is, The Ballroom Thieves and Tall Heights. She loves to share stories, playing everything from intimate living room concerts to critically acclaimed festivals.
Claire’s latest project,”Under Construction” speaks to her move to Nashville, where she now resides, writing songs and performing in the area. No matter the venue, her music has always been about sharing a positive outlook on life and making people smile.

Starkweather Bay Blues Band

Starkweather Bay Blues does all styles of blues from Chicago blues, Delta blues and all others in between. A variety of songs and music that will keep the crowd wanting more. Developing originals songs and making old songs like new, SWB is always bringing new music to each gig. Come sit back or better yet, dance the night away!

Sweet Delta Dawn

Sweet Delta Dawn is a four piece rock ensemble from Madison, Wisconsin consisting of a talented group of musicians/songwriters with a strong technical experience in sound engineering, and software design.
Starting in 2012, Sweet Delta Dawn has been a staple in the Madison jam community ever since. Together, they tell a futuristic tale of American life with a wholesome blend of the past. Covering a variety of folk, classic rock, jazz, funk, and modern music alongside a multicultural mix of rhythms, their music creates a platform for people to feel free and expressive.

Gary Weber

Gary has been singing and playing guitar since high school. He studied classical guitar in Vermont and jazz and blues guitar in Ann Arbor Michigan. He became a very sought after lead guitar player for rock bands while in high school and formed a number of folk groups in college. Gary is one of a few solo artists to have headlined at Art Street and His Oasis (Plainfield, Wisconsin) multiple times.
Gary is an advanced guitarist / vocalist / entertainer and is best known for his ability to accurately reproduce James Taylor’s finger picking style. What sets him apart from other artists is that he doesn’t take shortcuts and has the ability to perform music as it was originally recorded (no matter how difficult that may be).
