Rockin’ Jimmy Crimmins—one of the most exceptional jazz/blues guitarists on the scene today—was born in Madison, Wis. He started on the instrument early, making his first live appearance at the age of 13. While attending high school and gigging on the weekend, Jimmy became obsessed with learning from the masters. He wore out every B.B. King, Freddy King and Paul Butterfield album he could get his hands on.

Join us for the 9th installment of Gibson Music Hall Jazz Sessions hosted by Mike Malone. This month we’ll be feautring the music of Thelonious Monk with an amazing cast of local talent including Jake Anthony Crowe (sx) Malakai Flynn (gt) Austin Bolden (bs) and Mike Malone (dr).
First set is at 8 pm, and second set is open to all who’d like to come sit in!

You may not have heard of Kurt Gunn; he’s far more interested in writing and performing music than promoting himself. But with five solo albums to his credit, and nominations for Singer Songwriter of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry, Gunn’s fan base has grown steadily, as his talented guitar work, turned phrases, and unique, impassioned songwriting continually garner attention in Green Bay and beyond. Kurt tastefully appropriates whichever styles best accompany his story-songs, capturing crowds whether he’s leading a fluid cast of sympathetic musicians, or simply strumming and picking solo. Ultimately, Gunn’s ability to lend both gravity and levity to his work — sometimes within a single song — is what will stun his listeners for years to come.

Hailing from the pines of Northern Wisconsin, Nick began playing guitar at 15. From early on, his songs have shown a connection to the blues, soul, and rock n’ roll. Now, with more than 20 years of experience, Nick continues to work as a guitar for hire, but spends most of his time getting his own music heard. As his solo act moves around the Midwest growing momentum, he also focuses on the Nick Foytik Band, catching the ears of their audiences anywhere they go. Whether you’re seeing Nick solo or with his band, you’re always in for a unique and quality performance.
Ivy Ford also known as “The Chicago Blues Kitten,” is a versatile and talented old soul. From singing the blues to being sultry in any genre, she is an indigo artist who’s gift connects those who are around her and those who listen. Ivy Ford commands an energy that is most magical. Ivy Ford kick started her career , opening up for Buddy Guy in 2015. Since then she’s become a staple at the world famous blues club and has performed bi-coastal North and South, ranked in the top 40 of the International Blues Challenge and released an original album solely written and produced, herself. Ivy Ford is the next generation of blues, roots and soul music.
