Ten years ago, Stephen Chopek was performing songs in the New York City subways.
It’s clear when Stephen tells this story that it doesn’t strike him as unusual. He was a professional drummer learning to play guitar and sing – what better way to hone your skills? He refers to his time playing underground as casually as he talks about his life on the road or studying with drummer Billy Martin of Medeski Martin & Wood.
Long before those subway sets, Stephen’s apprenticeship with legendary jazz percussionist Leon Parker led to touring and recording with guitarist Charlie Hunter from 2000 to 2002, which opened the door to a world tour with John Mayer and the recording of Any Given Thursday. He’s kept the beat for Marc Broussard, Jesse Malin, The Alternate Routes, The Pimps of Joytime, Todd Carey, The Everymen, Amy LaVere, John Paul Keith, Shannon McNally, and many others. Not surprisingly, his stories tend to be about what was learned from every adventure; each tour, each artist, each session, was a prerequisite to the next. It is this collection of his experiences that laid the foundation for Stephen’s career as a solo artist.

Axtell is a charming urban folk soul duet formed in 2016 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Kat Axtell (from Minnesota) and Julian Hernandez (an Argentine soloist) had their very first rehearsals in the subways of the city, and have since performed over 100 shows all over the US and South America.
The duo’s sound blends genres from both members’ backgrounds: US Pop and R&B with Argentine Folk. Despite being just two onstage, the pair produces an energetic live show with guitar and ukulele, as well as the less familiar charango (Andean lute), and bombo legüero (“drum that can be heard a league away”). Despite skilled instrumentation, they don’t distract from the duet’s best feature: memorable melodies with captivating harmonies.
This summer Axtell is embarking on a 3-part, 14-month “Trilogy Tour” in celebration of the release of their third EP “And Now” (July 10, 2018).

Dirk Quinn is the guitarist for a high energy funk/jazz band based out of Philadelphia that travels extensively throughout the US and Canada. Utilizing over a decade of steady performing, Quinn has developed a unique and progressive style – one that appeals to a wide variety of music listeners with fans ranging from the jam band hippies to the jazz snobs.
The band’s infectious energy and musical interplay routinely attract listeners that are admittedly more accustomed to lyric-based music. With great melodic sensibilities, rhythmic experimentation and an accessible modern edge, the Dirk Quinn Band is jazz/funk improvisation at its most exciting!

Donnie got his start in the music business playing guitar in a Regional Bluegrass Band at age 14 for L.B Siler and the Round Mountain Boys. Growing up in a small town outside of Toledo Ohio, the music scene was ever changing. It wasn’t until five years later when he discovered Art Griswold and the Organics (a national blues band) that he knew what he really wanted to do. ” they were amazing, the real deal. Their live shows were so energetic and entertaining” so he jumped head first into the Blues. Hanging out with veteran local guitarist learning the licks and phrasings of the greats, hitting all the jam sessions he could and soaking in everything anyone had to teach him. If you see him perform today and you love the Blues you will not be disappointed. The feeling and passion that he puts into every note is remarkable. “I didn’t pick this career it picked me”.. 36 years later still playing festivals ,clubs and bars and still loving every minute of it…
Beth White is an R&B singer-songwriter who grew up in a small town in southwest Wisconsin. She grew up singing with her sisters from a young age and started playing the piano at age 5. With draws of inspiration from artists including Norah Jones, Amy Winehouse, John Legend and Emily King, Beth creates lyrics and melodies that sink into the souls of her listeners.
