Cinematic is the word most often used to describe Minneapolis based Marah in the Mainsail’s sound. Precise yet primitive jungle drums set the stage for the eclectic and powerful ensemble to sweep you away into their haunting world. Like oil and water, Durry’s gravel voice alongside Mercedes’s crystal clarity form a stirring, yet beautiful contrast. All being thrust forward by aggressive percussion, growling bass, and soaring brass. Their lyrics paint a thrilling picture of monsters and ghosts, murderers and thieves, love and guilt, and everything in between. Listen for free at marahinthemainsail.com

The Kal Bergendahl Project (KBP) is a six-piece instrumental jazz-funk band.  The vibrant unit features some of SE Wisconsin’s most familiar jazz faces displaying extraordinary musicianship and technical precision.
Blending free-flowing funk and memorable melodies; the ensemble is driven by a stellar horn section.
Groove and melodic hooks are constantly weaved in their deeply focused musical landscape of Jazz-Funk, R&B and Soul.
By exercising the vocabulary of popular music in the environment of jazz, KBP has a youthful, pop edge permeating their sound.

“Melody, melody, melody.” says composer and bandleader Bergendahl. “For me in my writing and in the music I enjoy, I’m always focusing on the melody. Ultimately that’s what sticks in the listeners ear and what makes a tune memorable. Being a bass player, I love the groove but I try to always make it serve the melody.”
The groups most recent release “Parallels Ch. 1” came out in 2016.

The Hook Up is a dirty rock & roll trio formed in Appleton, WI. Their music is driven with compelling hooks, and lyrical density that will take the listener on a musical journey. Harry Right and Nicholas Rodello are the dynamic duo that make up the backbone of the group. With two lead singers the band offers original music that infuses their unique styles, while still feeling like cohesive works. It’s as if Weezer, Foo Fighters and The Raconteurs melded together to create The Hook Up. The band’s personality, swagger, and musicianship shine through while they drop waves of inspired sounds. Let The Hook Up take your eyes and ears for a ride!

The Hook Up won the Wisconsin stage of the Cumulus Media Next2Rock 2017 competition, and has shown their strength in the Fox Valley music scene. With many festivals under their belt including Summerfest, Brat Fest, and Fall Fest the band shows they are comfortable on stages of any size. The Hook Up has also had success with song placements for television. Working through Cherry Pit Studios and Licensing the band has had music placed on “Restaurant Impossible,” “Fox Sports Net,” and “Smackdown.”

The blues band collaboration of guitarist Max Jones and harpist Shawn O’Marro has been best described as, “…a grotesque, filthy abomination insulting everything mannerly and decent in modern western industrial society…” and “…fun in the same style as pig wrestling in your prom dress”.

This Jam-Folk trio from Madison, WI, featuring Emma Bee ,Spencer Houghton and Tyler Willenbrink plays a variety of musical styles and genres. Their songs are a combination of collaborations and original tunes played in an original folk style all their own.

The Sara Rifleman Jazz Trio features fresh new jazz, steeped in the traditions of the music.
