R. Wesley Carr’s musical life has spanned across many genres. He has studied jazz, classical, bluegrass, and other forms of traditional American music. At Northern Illinois University, Wes studied with jazz and classical virtuoso, Fareed Haque.

After extensive performing and teaching in the mid-west, Wes chose to continue his education in East Tennessee’s State’s Bluegrass, Country, and Old-time degree program where he studied with five time grammy award winner, Adam Steffey.

While there, he continued performing and teaching while working on his songwriting and composition. His original instrumentals have quickly gained attention and brought Wes multiple appearances on the WKPT radio station as well as making him the first musician to appear on the Mountain Music Matinee radio show.

Although Wes loved the mountains, he missed his home. After graduating from ETSU, he returned to Northern Illinois. Currently, he is the head music instructor at Ax In Hand Guitars in DeKalb, Illinois. He stays busy teaching, performing, and composing.

Pine Travelers create original music that combines the gritty Americana of outlaw country, folk, and bluegrass with old school funk rave-ups and roots rock & roll.

Based in Madison, WI, Pine Travelers have played close to 300 shows in 6 states since their inception in 2013, including Wisconsin, Illinois, Colorado, Texas, Minnesota, and Iowa. In addition to playing notable Madison venues like High Noon Saloon and The Crystal Corner, the band has also held a monthly residency at Alchemy, a favorite venue on Madison’s east side, for a year.

The group’s songs allow for a dance-able, energetic live show paired with honest, meaningful lyrics reflecting their northern midwest roots. Pine Travelers hope their music reflects their modest, hard-working values: rural values meshed with urban sensibility; engaging sets ranging from rustic roots music to funk grooves with a modern twist.

Chachuba is a four piece electronic/trance-fusion jam band that does not let the notion of “genre” limit the styles and influences found in their live shows. Chachuba has been able to transcend boundaries and have had the honor to play alongside talented jam bands and electronic producers.
The band is influenced by electronic dance music, with improvisation as a key component. Their jams are fueled by heavy and melodic guitar riffs, synths, and funky beats. The band consists of Nate Beitz (bass), Sean DiCosola (keyboard/synth), Gary Goodheart (drums) and Jimmy Klimek (guitar).
From the House of Blues in Chicago to State Bridge Amphitheater in Colorado, Chachuba has begun to spread their music and message all across the United States.

Review:
“Finally came Sunday, the day most folks were anticipating. Kicking it off was relatively new Jamtronica group Chachuba. They layed down some funky riffs and tantalizing synths. Look out for this band in years to come, I have a feeling this is only the beginning for Chachuba.” Ray John Summer Set Music Festival

Plaid Hawaii came to fruition as a side project in the Milwaukee home studio of Jason Womp, bassist of Undercover Organism. Since late 2014, he has been making moves in the rising tropical house and indie dance scenes. The refreshing sound of Plaid Hawaii, which finds a blissful balance between digital and live instrumentation, can best be described as “tropidelic”. Musical selections, remixes and original productions are meticulously blended to create an upbeat and sexy live set where most can’t help but fall in love. Named one of Magnetic Magazine’s “6 Must-See Artists Playing North Coast Music Festival” in 2016. Plaid Hawaii has been featured at numerous major music festivals and has shared the stage with many established artists across the scene such as GRiZ, Sam Feldt, Matoma, Illenium, Cherub, Klingande, Autograf, Phutureprimitive, Two Friends, Zimmer, SNBRN Sunsquabi, Manic Focus, and Win+Woo. Between his extraordinary ability to adapt to any type of set and by constantly seeking to capture an emotion, rather than jumping on whatever style is trending right now; Jason’s vision and following hasn’t stopped building momentum since day one.
