The Hook Up is a dirty rock & roll trio formed in Appleton, WI. Their music is driven with compelling hooks, and lyrical density that will take the listener on a musical journey. Harry Right and Nicholas Rodello are the dynamic duo that make up the backbone of the group. With two lead singers the band offers original music that infuses their unique styles, while still feeling like cohesive works. It’s as if Weezer, Foo Fighters and The Raconteurs melded together to create The Hook Up. The band’s personality, swagger, and musicianship shine through while they drop waves of inspired sounds. Let The Hook Up take your eyes and ears for a ride!
The Hook Up won the Wisconsin stage of the Cumulus Media Next2Rock 2017 competition, and has shown their strength in the Fox Valley music scene. With many festivals under their belt including Summerfest, Brat Fest, and Fall Fest the band shows they are comfortable on stages of any size. The Hook Up has also had success with song placements for television. Working through Cherry Pit Studios and Licensing the band has had music placed on “Restaurant Impossible,” “Fox Sports Net,” and “Smackdown.”
The blues band collaboration of guitarist Max Jones and harpist Shawn O’Marro has been best described as, “…a grotesque, filthy abomination insulting everything mannerly and decent in modern western industrial society…” and “…fun in the same style as pig wrestling in your prom dress”.
This Jam-Folk trio from Madison, WI, featuring Emma Bee ,Spencer Houghton and Tyler Willenbrink plays a variety of musical styles and genres. Their songs are a combination of collaborations and original tunes played in an original folk style all their own.
The Sara Rifleman Jazz Trio features fresh new jazz, steeped in the traditions of the music. The listener’s attention is grabbed by the varied repertoire of original tunes, and the offbeat approach to jazz and pop standards. The trio believes in highlighting an ensemble sound that draws an audience in to the music. The member’s long performance history and musical sensitivity creates a variety in the music that makes for a truly exceptional listening experience.
Cypress Dreams is the duo of singer/songwriter Tai Alford and violinist Erik Leveille. You will find a repertoire that includes Tai’s soulful originals, Celtic, Scandanavian and Quebecois fiddle tunes, and covers ranging from Gillian Welch and Keb Mo to Elvis and REM. Their classical and folk backgrounds blend in a uniquely engaging style that moves and inspires.
Tai has been playing the guitar, writing, and performing since the age of 13 and fell in love with the mandolin ten years ago realizing it fit perfectly on the back of a motorcycle. You will find songwriting that speaks to the broad human experience with humor and tenderness. The albums, Heart to Soul, Merry Go Round, and Love Cracked Me Open, can be found both on CD Baby and
iTunes under the name B Alford. Tai was ordained in 2016 as a soto zen priest, and finds inspiration in meditation, poetry, nature and husband Tom. A new Cypress Dreams album is in the works. You can find a sampling of their sound on SoundCloud under Cypress Dreams.
Classically trained violinist, Erik Leveille can be found playing with numerous symphonies in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa, including Appleton’s own Fox Valley Symphony. A common interest in the Sufi poet Rumi began a friendship and musical partnership with Tai that is now eleven years strong. Erik is grateful for the opportunity to explore the incredibly rich world of American folk and roots music.

The Raglanders are a 5-piece group from Green Bay, WI who blur the lines between Rock and Country with a uniquely Midwestern take. They draw on traditional influences like Gram Parsons, Bob Dylan, Tom Petty, and The Band along with newer voices such as Ryan Adams and Jason Isbell.
The band is currently writing and recording material for a follow up to their 2016 EP release “Pembine”, which they recorded in an isolated cabin deep in the woods of northern Wisconsin near the small town of Pembine. The new material demonstrates a growth in songwriting and musicianship, while sticking to the traditional roots that have been the band’s trademark from the beginning.
Since the release of “Pembine” founding members Troy Heinz (rhythm guitar, vocals), John Steuck (lead guitar, vocals) and Andy Cismoski (bass, vocals) have added violinist Molly Robinson and drummer Bill Schulz and in the process have taken the group’s musicianship to new heights. The band’s sound is clearly based first and foremost in the classic storytelling tradition, but the dual soloing violin and lead guitar can elevate improvisational passages to exciting new levels at any given moment.
The Raglanders have been steadily building a fan base, appearing at festivals around Wisconsin including the Steel Bridge Song Fest, Electric City Experience, and Moondance Festival and have shared the stage with national acts like Confederate Railroad and Jarrod Niemann.
