Rocket Miner:
At their very first live performance, it’s not unbelievable that Chicago band Rocket Miner was mistaken by an attendee for Russian Circles, another bombastic instrumental outfit from the area. Both bands deliver devastating distortion and ear-ringing quakes of sound in a genre that didn’t have many heavyweights as of 20 years ago. But while Russian Circles take darker turns and incorporate metal-esque riffing, Rocket Miner’s songs tend to blossom in slow-motion, like flowers blooming, giving plenty of time to allow the sweeping grandeur to earn its reward.
The band has performed with other sonically-minded Midwestern bands (Secret Colours, Cowboy Indian Bear) as well as those from overseas (Denmark’s The Foreign Resort; Brazil’s Labrinto), and have taken to simply giving away old merch at their shows – a gentlemanly offering for a band who, much like their own songs, are on the brink of something huge.

One of the first questions people ask Pete is how did you get your
name, Cadillac Pete? Pete was dubbed “Cadillac Pete” by his fellow
musicians. Cadillac is a symbol of excellence, known for legendary
performance which fits Pete to a tee; hence the name, “Cadillac Pete”.
Pete was given a harmonica at the age of 4 and has been playing
ever since. He went to see an Allman Brothers concert one night
and Muddy Waters opened for them. It was Pete’s first time hearing
the blues and he was blown away! He soon learned how to bend
notes and within a year he was in his first band travelling
around the Midwest. He’s now been performing professionally
for over 30 years.
Pete is an international recording artist having recorded with
Kenny Wayne Sheppard, James Cotton, Frank Marino, Bryan Lee,
Reverend Raven and many more. Pete’s toured the U.S., Europe,
South America, and Canada. He is a 2 time WAMI ( Wisconsin
Area Music Industry) winner for best harmonica instrumentalist
and has performed on stages like Milwaukee’s Summer Fest,
Montreal Jazz Fest, Belgium Blues Fest, New Orleans Jazz Fest,
Buddy Guy’s Legends and many more.

Narcotic Wasteland started as a side project Dallas Toler- Wade had been working the past few years when he was not touring or in the writing/studio mode with “Nile.” “The more songs I completed for “Narcotic Wasteland,” The more I wanted to put a full band lineup together,” said Dallas.

Toler- Wade asked longtime friend Edwin Rhone (lead guitar/vox) if he was interested, which he was. They both had played in some metal bands together in the early to mid 1990’s. Edwin had later recommended Chris (“Lutachrist”) Dupre for bass/vox.

Dallas stated, “Chris came in and not only knew his parts, but owned them with lots of attitude. So the only thing left was finding a drummer. After trying out several drummers from all over the states over two years, my band mate in “Nile,” George Kollias, recommended Erik Schultek. Erik did not only nail the material, but fit very well to the style and sound of the music.”
The band’s overall concept is very reflective of the city where Dallas, Edwin, and Chris grew up. Fayetteville, North Carolina, a military town, has a PTSD rate of up to 75% in males, and is the highest rated city in the US for Shaken Baby Syndrome. The availability of street drugs is astounding, and the ever growing epidemic of addiction to pharmaceutical drugs is an extremely toxic and unstable environment to grow up and live in.

Dallas states, “Other than joining the military, there was nothing to do but work low paying jobs, do drugs, and get in trouble, but music saved us from the otherwise depressing round of existence. For Edwin, Chris, and I, there was not much of a positive outlet there other than music.” Although hard drugs and death are sort of a main topic, it’s not the only topic. We as a band, do not want too many limitations on what we write about.”

“On the first album,” added Dallas, “There was a song about South Carolina’s most famous serial killer, and another song with an anti-organized religion message. Like I have said many times over the years, Iron Maiden doesn’t only write songs about iron maidens! We are in the process of finishing up our second album right now, and the topic of drug use and death is still present, but we are also branching off a bit to talk about venomous human behavior, self reflection, and big pharmaceutical companies ruining lives for big profits.”

Dallas continues with one of his infamous monologues, “Musically, the band is retaining it’s already established sound while expanding into more dark, sinister, and very sad sounding passages, capturing the mental imagery of the lyrics. We like writing music that challenges us as players, but also actually means something. We want to connect to the listener as emotionally as possible, to have a release for their anger and sadness. That to us is the most important mission as songwriters for this band.”

Reverend Raven has been playing the blues since 1971 when he first saw Freddy King play at the Kinetic Theatre in Chicago.

After a 15 year hitch in the Navy he moved to Milwaukee where he began a long friendship and collaboration with Madison Slim, long time harmonica player for Jimmy Rogers. Since 1990 he has opened for Gatemouth Brown, Pinetop Perkins, Koko Taylor Band, Junior Wells, Billy Branch, Magic Slim, Elvin Bishop, Sugar Blue, Lonnie Brooks, William Clarke, Lefty Dizz and numerous others at festivals and at Buddy Guy’s Legends. Locally he has performed with Billy Flynn, Perry Weber, Piano Willie, Stokes, Jon Paris, Clyde Stubblefied, Bryan Lee and the Lamont Cranston band. The Reverend was the Wisconsin Music Industry (WAMI) award winner for best blues band in 1999, and 2000, nominated again in 2002 & 2003, then winner again in 2004!

Trio Del Mare is a new Jazz Ensemble based in Green Bay, WI, composed of Maria Balistreri on vocals, Gillian Evanoff on upright bass and Dr. Stefan Hall on guitar.

Trio Del Mare guitarist Dr. Stefan Hall is the founder and guitarist for the popular Jazz Ensemble Gypsy Trip and Marisa and Gillian are original members of the Green Bay-based Gypsy Swing Ensemble Mulatság. As a group or as individuals, Trio Del Mare has performed throughout Wisconsin including at La Vie Boheme in De Pere, The Art Garage in Green Bay, The Martini Lounge in Appleton, The Bremen Café in Milwaukee and have been featured on Wisconsin Public Television and Wisconsin Public Radio. The Trio reently made their Green Bay debut at Artstreet.

As a duo, M.a.R. has thirty years of combined performing experience. Recent graduates of UW-Green Bay, M.a.R. uses the skills learned under the UWGB music faculty as well as bringing a flair of their own to their performances.
 
On an individual basis, Matt Hillman, the guitarist, collaborates regularly with Appleton’s Big Band Reunion, The Peguero Sisters, Funk Trunk, Unified Soul, The Noble Brothers, and many others. Rissel Peguero, the vocalist and pianist, collaborates mostly with The Peguero Sisters but has sung in many events, including UWGB’s Jazz Fest.
 
M.a.R.’s style is rooted in the steps of famous jazz artists, including (but not limited to) Joe Pass, Betty Carter, Ella Fitzgerald, Jim Hall, Cyrille Aimee, Stevie Wonder, Mel Torme, Bill Evans, etc. Putting an even more personal aspect to their music, M.a.R. incorporates Spanish and Portuguese lyrics into their sets to add an ethnic touch.

Rock band Hero Jr. is an old school band, but their crisp live sound sets the bar for “real” modern rock music. They have a reputation for playing different shows each night, often stretching their well-crafted rock tunes into epic jams. On tour since 2012, the band has played more than 650 shows across America. Having supported major headlining acts such as Alice Cooper, Tom Petty, John 5 & The Creatures, The Offspring, Tantric and more! Hero Jr. is truly in their element live on stage!

Ethan Keller is a singer-songwriter from Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was voted Best Solo Artist in the 2011 Milwaukee Music Awards, and Pop Artist of the Year at the 2011 Wisconsin Area Music Industry (WAMI) Awards.

Keller is known for his originality, diversity, and depth. Musically and professionally, Ethan wears many hats. He has been performing and promoting since 1993, played thousands of shows, and composed hundreds of songs. Ethan has performed at prestigious venues in nearly 30 states, and sold over 10,000 records.

Keller’s 2010 EP entitled Profit, was co-produced by two-time Grammy winner Ted Greenberg, and has aired on over 250 college stations nationwide, debuting in the top 5 CMJ adds in some markets. Ethan’s music is in heavy rotation at WYMS 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, and has showcased on other commercial, college, public, and internet stations globally.
