Soul. Rhythm and Blues. The words conjure romantic images of sweat dripping dancers swaying slowly to infectious Motown grooves, Staxx and Chess chart toppers oozing from the band stand with a harmonic intensity so real it broke your heart. Tender ballads peppered with generous portions of Hammond organ and scorched barn burners precisely punctuated by a ruthless horn section, these were the songs to have you on your feet before the singer even started. The times have changed and music has moved on, but the feeling of all this remains. This is one eight piece band that promises that feeling will sustain.
Horns. Bass, drums, and keys. Seductive guitar. And at the forefront of all this, Stephen Cooper. Combining R&B, jazz, soul, blues, funk, hip hop, and rock, he has drawn on his accomplishments of the past to bring you something truly special…A living, breathing musical conduit from the past to the present…and we guarantee to bring you that feeling of the heart once again.
Stephen Cooper has been a bandleader, sideman, and touring musician for over 25 years. In that time, he has played in 21 states and 7 countries with numerous groups, most namely WiFEE and the HUZz BAND and The Groove Hogs. Deeply rooted in jazz, r&b, and blues, Coop draws in vocal influences such as Amy Winehouse, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, and Al Green, while also being a highly accomplished saxophonist and instrumental soloist. Each member of Nobody Famous is a superstar on their own and we implore you to give us a spin!

Formed as an acoustic duo in the mid-nineties by guitarists/vocalists Marty Paschke (blind) and Rod Zimmerman (bad haji), “The Rod & Marty Show” began to turn heads with their unique blend of intricate guitar work and ear-catching vocal harmonies. Looking to add another voice and guitar to the mix, the duo added Eric Krueger (sunday flood) in 2004 and dubbed themselves, “A-Town Unplugged” as a tribute to their weekly showcase at the MARITIME TAVERN in Appleton, Wisconsin. The group added bass player Jim Van Hout (pawnshop lifters) and drummer Pat Wydeven (pawnshop lifters) in 2005, with Jeremy “the Sparrow” Rechner taking over for Top Jimmy on bass in 2013. Playing 2,3,4, or 5 piece shows, the band continues to make a name for themselves throughout the state and beyond with their signature style of acoustic feel good music that spans the influence of time and musical genre.
“And now for something completely different….”
Comedic Acoustic Jazz a.k.a. Dr. Kickbutt’s Orchestra of Death!
“Who is Dr. Kickbutt? The simple answer is that he is the brains and the beauty behind Dr. Kickbutt’s Orchestra of Death. But then what in the world is Dr. Kickbutt’s Orchestra of Death? Well, it’s a ukulele junk band that can not only rock your socks off but also any other under garments. They combine good music with bad jokes, it’s a show like you’ve never seen before.”–Otis Miller
Why is the Orchestra of DEATH like an artillery shell? Because by the time you hear either of them it is too late to run…

Paul Filipowicz, Chicago born Lockport, IL raised (singer, songwriter, guitarist, harmonica). Over the 30+ years fronting his own band, he has played venues from the mid-west to Denver to stints in Texas and Mississippi. Some of his fondest memories are the shows with “Hound Dog Taylor” and “Mighty Joe Young”. Luther Allison was a great friend of his who once told Paul “I know you’re a bluesman and you know you’re a bluesman and every time you take the stage you got to prove it!” Come watch him prove it at Gibson Music Hall!

Just in case you haven’t heard of Kurt Gunn yet; he’s far more interested in writing and performing music than promoting himself. But with four solo albums to his credit, and nominations for Singer Songwriter of the Year, and Male Vocalist of the Year by the Wisconsin Area Music Industry, Gunn’s fan base has grown steadily, as his talented guitar work, turned phrases, and unique, impassioned songwriting continually garner attention in Green Bay and beyond. Kurt tastefully appropriates whichever styles best accompany his story-songs, capturing crowds whether he’s leading a fluid cast of sympathetic musicians, or simply strumming and picking solo. Ultimately, Gunn’s ability to lend both gravity and levity to his work — sometimes within a single song — is what will stun his listeners for years to come.
