The Furious Bongos are a Zappa project featuring musicians who have played alongside heavyweights like Yo Yo Ma, Mick Fleetwood, and Les Paul.
This isn’t strictly a “tribute” band – doing a note-for-note rendition of Song X from Album Y while staring at their shoes didn’t seem like the proper way to go about it. The result is a show that pays respect to Zappa’s legacy but is still new and different and dangerous, with lots of eyebrows.

SIRSY is a ROCK & SOUL DUO with lots of pop sensibility & just the right amount of sass! Fronted by charistmatic lead singer, Melanie who is also the band’s drummer and plays a full kit standing up. Melanie plays bass parts on a keyboard with her drum stick and even throws in some mean flute solos. Rich Libutti plays a road worn and well loved Rickenbacker through a pedal board full of vintage effects. He also pays bass with his feet and tells super nerdy Star Wars jokes. SIRSY is known for passionate performances that often include lots of stories from the road, laughs, and dance parties. It’s a good time! 🙂 SIRSY plays 250+ shows per year nationally & has played with Grace Potter, Maroon 5, Cheap Trick, Train, and many more. Helen Exner returns from Florida for an exclusive evening to play good music with old friends! Jay Stulo(guitar), Drew Hicks(bass), and Ryan Corb(drums) and of course, Helen Exner(keys and vocals).
Helen Exner grew up playing piano from the age of 5, writing down her first melody at age 8. The daughter of a doctor and nurse, she spent her childhood in different states and countries. These experiences influenced her love of history and culture, bringing her from the East Coast to Cameroon (West Africa) and Germany by the age of 12. In 1992 she arrived in Wisconsin, where she developed her love of classical music through private lessons and a stellar high school arts program at Shawano Community High School. She won state-level awards for her songwriting in high school, including a choral competition in 1998 that resulted in the Festival Choir of Madison singing her song “Tiller of the Soil,” in honor of Wisconsin’s 125th anniversary as a state.
Helen went on to study at the conservatory at Lawrence University in Appleton, spending two years as a pianist and composition major before graduating with a history degree. Following graduation, she made her living as a church musician while returning to school to become a licensed teacher. Helen juggled church-musician duties with teaching piano lessons in her private studio and accompanying at schools. She performed frequently as a singer and pianist in the local jazz circuit, frequenting locales like Cena, Deja Vu Martini Lounge, the Farmer’s Market and countless other venues and festivals. During that time, she gained a following in the local scene as a singer/songwriter who writes piano-driven tunes that tell personal stories–sometimes funny, sometimes heartbreaking, but always honest. Her unique sound was featured on the National Public Radio show “A Prairie Home Companion” in 2008 when Garrison Keillor brought his show to Appleton.
In 2013 Helen moved to south Florida to begin her math-teaching career, and she volunteers her time socializing homeless dogs as a member of the Everglades Angels Dog Rescue. She lives currently in Palm Beach County with her cats Daisy and Mario.

The 80’s brought in an era of music that was fresh, fun and exciting. Bands at that time didn’t take themselves so seriously. They played for the pure joy of that new, fresh energetic sound.
Few bands captured that moment in time better than the East Side Kids. Known for their live shows, the Appleton based East Side Kids combined original material and cutting edge music from little known power pop bands to present a show of raw energy.
East Side Kids opened for national and MTV bands The Romantics, The Producers, The Greg Kihn Band and the BoDeans, to name just a few.
The band will reunite for the first time in over 26 years on May 4, 2019 for a one night only event at Gibson Music Hall.
This is an event for fans, friends and anyone who loves the sound of the 80’s.

-BLACKFOOT GYPSIES – As a band, they have unleashed a set of original roadhouse rockin’ tunes with “To the Top” on Plowboy Records. The Nashville, Tennessee based powerhouse quartet demonstrate raucous energy and soul on this collection delivering their take on white-knuckled rock’n’roll.
-SMOKING FLOWERS – Musically speaking, Kim dances between drums, accordion, acoustic guitar, mandolin, harmonica, shimmering tambourine and her own sensual, simmering vocals. Scott plays electric and acoustic guitar, harmonica, and delivers his vocals with the voice of a feisty, gin-battered, heart-on-sleeve, hardscrabble troubadour. They have influences that range from Led Zeppelin to Gillian Welch and The Ramones to Neil Young. Kim healed cancer using holistic and alternative methods and a raw food diet (no chemotherapy, no radiation, no hormones). The Smoking Flowers 2018 album “Let’s Die Together” was inspired by these events. They remain activists and advocates for holistic and alternative medicine.
